We currently care for 46 children in our residential home. The children in the residential home attend school together daily at Buddhanilkantha Model Community Academy and at Kathmandu University.
“We are all exposed to learning and playing,” said founder Pushpa Basnet. “I want them to see the world and how things work. I want them to have the best time in their life here. I want them to feel they had everything I had in my childhood.”
Our Butterfly Home will make their future more secure. When the older children go to college, we will support them. We hope they will come back to ECDC and become Board Members. This way ECDC will not only speak for children of incarcerated parents, but it will give them the platform and opportunities to speak for themselves.
