Pushpa was able to start a program working with the imprisoned mothers inside the prisons and after their release. She teaches the women to make handicrafts such as stitched fabric carrier bags and Waldorf dolls, which are sold to support ECDC, and also provide these women with income-generating skills to use after their release.
In April 2017, Pushpa and her staff went to Nuwakot prison for 3 days to teach 15 women how to sew and stitch the carrier bags. These items are currently only sold within Nepal and by request.
We hope to have a system for selling these products to a wider audience soon.
